Hindu Unity: In GTA we have a lot of groups operating independently and serving the needs of the Hindu community. HAONA is an initiative to unite all the Hindu groups with a common thread, to bring harmony and strength in their working.

Voice for Hindu human rights: With unity comes strength, and with HAONA the voice of Hindus would become collective and stronger for Hindu human rights.

Hindu information and services Centre:This centre is located at Sant Gyaneshwar Ashram (Jaipur Gore Plaza) 8887 Unit # 44,The Gore Road in the city of Brampton. This centre will provide information about Hindus, Hindu books and education, Hindu history, Helping Hindu Students and offer Hindu scholarship programs. Also what will be included are - Hindu living, Hindu eating, Hindu culture, Hindu exercise (Yoga) and Hindu Medicine (Ayurveda).

Legal Action: HAONA members have decided that they would also want to take legal action against Media, organizations, or individuals, who portray Hindu inaccurately.

  Hindu Org. got Overwhelming response

Hindu Awareness Organization of North America (HAONA) had their first Annual General Meeting on 14th May 2005 at Lombardos banquet hall, Mississauga. A large number of pro-active Hindus from GTA attended this meeting. For the first time Hindus from various organizations and group leaders participated in a meeting. Hindu professionals, businessmen, journalists, publishers, radio broadcasters, television hosts, teachers and chartered accountants, have joined HAONA as the board of directors.

The founder members and Trustees of the Organization called this AGM after receiving non-profit charitable status from the Canadian government. The constitution of HAONA had a provision of twenty one directors, however, given the overwhelming response from the community, it was unanimously decided that numbers be increased to thirty one immediately.
