Hindu
Org. got Overwhelming response
Hindu Awareness Organization of North America (HAONA)
had their first Annual General Meeting on 14th May 2005 at Lombardos
banquet hall, Mississauga. A large number of pro-active Hindus from
GTA attended this meeting. For the first time Hindus from various
organizations and group leaders participated in a meeting. Hindu
professionals, businessmen, journalists, publishers, radio broadcasters,
television hosts, teachers and chartered accountants, have joined
HAONA as the board of directors.
The founder members and Trustees of the Organization called
this AGM after receiving non-profit charitable
status from the Canadian government. The constitution of HAONA had
a provision of twenty one directors, however, given the overwhelming
response from the community, it was unanimously decided that numbers
be increased to thirty one immediately.
